To Wish On All The Stars by ~AydenSilverflame7 I'm sitting outside, and Madame Wind is blowing. First softly, and then she catches her breath And blows with the strength of ages; Making my blanket flutter and my hair go crazy. It's a bit chilly, but I don't mind. The sun has just set and the sky is a gorgeous spread of blues. First cobalt to the east, And then lightening in shade until it's like a robin's egg. There's still the faintest hint Of yellow and orange on the horizon, But it won't last that long. Lady Moon shines above me, halfway through her phase. Turning the sky around her silver. The trees whisper and dance, And I have an urge to stand up and sway, but I won't. I lay my head back and wait for all the stars to come out. It's spring, but it's early, There's still a taste of the keen edge of winter. The skies, slightly overcast yet still fairly clear will soon shine With a multitude of diamonds. That small taste of winter bites and sting, but I don't mind. Here, wrapped in my thick blanket I think of you. Just the thought of you makes me warm. First it starts inside, where my heart is. Then it grows, a steady heat that soon engulfs me. I wish you were here, wrapped in my blanket with me. But you're so far away…yet not so far. I have you in my heart and my mind, and I plan on keeping you here. But I still wish you were here, and not just the piece of you I hold In the deepest and truest part of my heart. The sounds of the highway, to my left intrude just enough into my dream They wake me up just enough To realise that it may be impossible for the wish to come true. So, instead of wishing on that first star, I'll wish on them all, Asking the silent silver sentinels of the night If maybe, one day you'll be here and we can watch them together.
